SDGs

Three Pillars

Achieving true sustainable development requires solutions that harmoniously integrate the economic, environmental, and social pillars, creating lasting impact for people and the planet.

Economic Pillar

Enhancing economic well-being through improved health systems, job creation, and strong infrastructure.

Environmental Pillar

Protecting natural resources through access to clean water and energy, responsible resource use, and conservation.

Social Pillar

Building inclusive, just, and peaceful societies through education, gender equality, and human rights.

Participants can select any SDGs within the Economic, Environmental, and Social pillars, combining them in unique ways to unlock endless possibilities for sustainable development.

Roadmap

Three Phases

Phase 1: Launch Phase

Description

Each Student Branch will form a team of five members (undergraduate or graduate IEEE members) and propose a humanitarian project idea that addresses a local problem in Tunisia. The project must contribute to sustainable development by addressing one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and tackling all three pillars: Environmental, Economic, and Social.

Note: Online sessions will be held to familiarize teams with the SDGs and inspire innovative thinking.
Evaluation Criteria

Submitted Project Ideas will be evaluated based on Challenge–Vision Alignment, Originality, SDG Integration, Humanitarian Values, Clarity of Description, and Impact Potential.

Process

Preselection & Registration

Registration

There are two registrations that participants need to be aware of: TSYP Congress registration and competition registration.

All students competing in student SEC competitions must register for both the congress and the competition.

Preselection Phase

Due to limited capacity, the competition includes a preselection phase:

  • Preselection Form: All interested teams must submit the form by 11:59 PM (GMT+1) on 11 October
  • Selection Notification: Chosen teams will receive a confirmation form on 13 October
